The site of Ranrouet has been occupied since the time of the Romans, it is situated in the area around the marshes and on the way to the salt road. With the passing centuries, different families have built the castle and thus, they have changed it.
The castle is a real winess of the evolution of military architecture from the 13th to the 17th century.
